Privacy

This notice explains how Interval at caffeine.kaan.quest handles your caffeine journal and the optional WHOOP connection.

Last updated: November 6, 2026.

Your caffeine journal stays in your browser. Connecting WHOOP is optional and requires your authorization. WHOOP data is fetched through this website's server and displayed in memory while the page is open.

Your caffeine journal

Drinks, caffeine amounts, timestamps, food context, health settings, planned sleep times, and journal notes are saved in this browser's local storage under interval-caffeine-v1. Interval does not send that journal to WHOOP or upload it to an application database. Other browsers and devices have separate journals.

Using Export backup creates a file containing your journal and settings, which may include sensitive notes. You control where you save or share that file. Browser settings, private browsing, or clearing site data may remove your local journal.

What the optional WHOOP connection reads

If you choose Connect WHOOP, you sign in and grant access on WHOOP's own authorization page. Interval does not ask for or receive your WHOOP password. The integration requests:

The integration does not request profile, body measurement, or workout permissions. WHOOP may include additional fields in its responses; the server selects the fields above and the IDs needed to associate records before returning data to the page.

How WHOOP data is used

When you choose Sync WHOOP, the server requests recent sleep, recovery, and cycles for a 14-day window, with a bounded number of pages of results. Interval displays these metrics in your Journal and compares your logged caffeine with the actual recorded start of sleep.

These comparisons are estimates for personal tracking. They do not measure caffeine in your body, diagnose a condition, prove what caused a sleep or recovery result, or change your planned bedtime or caffeine half-life automatically.

Storage, cookies, and retention

Synced WHOOP records stay in the current page's memory. Interval does not intentionally save them in browser local storage, journal backup files, or a server database. Reloading the page clears the displayed records until you sync again. Disconnecting clears the displayed WHOOP data.

The connection uses a Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite cookie containing encrypted access and refresh tokens. JavaScript on the page cannot read this cookie. The session expires after 30 days. A separate encrypted cookie for protecting the sign-in process expires after 10 minutes. These are functional connection cookies, not advertising cookies.

WHOOP client credentials and the cookie encryption key are configured as server settings in Cloudflare, not included in the website's HTML. The application does not intentionally log access tokens, credentials, or WHOOP response bodies. Deleting a journal does not disconnect WHOOP; these controls are separate.

Services that process requests

Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the server function used to communicate with WHOOP. Cloudflare and WHOOP process the network requests needed to serve the site and connect your account. Those requests include connection information such as your IP address and request timing, and the WHOOP API responses pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure.

This application does not include advertising, analytics trackers, or AI processing of your journal or WHOOP records. It does not intentionally sell your health data or send it to advertisers. Hosting providers may maintain operational or security logs under their own policies.

Disconnecting and deleting your data

  1. Choose Disconnect WHOOP in Your settings to remove the connection cookie in this browser, clear the displayed WHOOP records, and request revocation of the app's access at WHOOP.
  2. If WHOOP cannot confirm revocation, Interval will tell you. Remove the app's authorization in your WHOOP account's connected-app settings as well. You can revoke access at WHOOP at any time.
  3. Choose Delete all local data in Your settings to delete this browser's caffeine journal and settings. You can also clear this site's browser storage and cookies.
  4. Delete any exported backup files separately if you no longer want to keep them.

Disconnecting Interval does not delete the original records in your WHOOP account. Other authorized browsers may retain their local cookies until they expire or are cleared, although revoking access at WHOOP affects the app's authorization.

Changes and questions

This notice may change when Interval's features or data handling change. The date above identifies the current version. If you have questions about this app's data handling, contact the site owner through the channel where the app was shared with you. WHOOP account and source-data questions should be directed to WHOOP.
